General Data Protection Regulation 2018

You may have heard of the new GDPR laws that come into force on 25th May 2018. GDPR stands for the General Data Protection Regulation. In summary, the new law affords better protection to your personal data and what organisations like us can do with it. And as part of that protection, we invite you to take this opportunity to update us if there has been a change to your name, address or email information, or if you would like to change how you hear from us. You can update your details by phone, email or letter using the Society's contact details.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

The Fell Pony Society is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. If you hear from us, we will aim to be respectful, and to be contacting you about something relevant and appropriate. Please take time to read the policy to understand our practices regarding your personal data.

We may make changes to this policy from time to time and any future changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by email or letter. Please take time to refer back to this page frequently to check for any updates or changes to the policy.

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us may be used. This data may include your first name and surname, full address, email address, postcode and telephone number, including mobile number. For all equine passport applications and transfers of ownership, your name and address together with the equine's details will be recorded on our database and supplied to the Central Equine Database as required under the legislation. These details may also be requested by the C.As (DEFRA) and enforcement bodies (Trading Standards, police etc).

In addition to the above, data held on registered Fell Ponies, their breeder's and owner's details (specifically first name, surname, full address and postcode) will be published in the Society's stud books and the pony's pedigree information made available on our website www.fellponysociety.org.uk. Limited additional personal information may be included on the website if requested by the individual in writing via email or letter.

How else may we use your information?

We won't keep hold of your personal information for longer than is reasonably necessary or required by law.

Where will we store your personal data?

All information you provide is stored on our secure server or locked cabinets. We follow strict security procedures to protect all personal information.
