Fell Pony Society
Next Generation Group

The Next Generation Group has restarted. It was formerly known as The Young Persons Group, which closed in 2017 due to personal circumstances. Removing the age "cap" we asked for fresh name suggestions on the Facebook page, and with advice from Peter Boustead we have elected a Secretary, Chairperson and Treasurer.

We plan to run educational events but have already got some online material, one being The Foal Series from Alistair Smith, who has filmed one of his foals from 2021 at day 1, 3 days and 3 weeks old, discussing what breeders look for in a foal.

Aims and Objectives

1) To organise educational and training days on the Fell pony's conformation and breed type.
2) To promote and gain a greater understanding of hill herds.
3) To represent the views of the younger members to the FPS council.
4) To encourage younger members to learn more about the Fell Pony Society and about the work the council, the committees and secretary undertake throughout the year.
5) To prepare younger Fell Pony Society members to stand for election to the council in the future.
6) To listen to suggestions and organise events suitable for younger members.
