Fell Pony Society Trotting Events

2006-07

On Sunday the 16th July 2006 we had our first Trotting Event day held at Tebay Show. We had two races, one Junior and one Senior. Both races were a mile long and fun was had by all. We had a lot of support and there were many spectators to cheer the riders on. Very well done to all those who took part! There were beautiful rosettes awarded for all of the prize winners and competitors, kindly given by the Chairman of our society, Mary Longsdon. Also a trophy, (The Redhouse Mac Trophy) has been very kindly donated by Mrs Savage for the best Junior Rider over the two shows (Tebay and Crosby Ravensworth). This will be awarded on a points system, the winner will be determined by having the most points from the two shows. The points will be awarded at each show as follows:
     1^st - 4 points
     2^nd - 3 points
     3^rd - 2 points
     4^th - 1 point

The Senior Race gets under way at Tebay Show

We are hoping to have more entries for our next day, held at Crosby Ravensworth Show on Thursday the 31st August, so that we can hold all four races. These are junior rider, mare with senior riders, gelding with senior riders and veteran pony.
